“Pray for Someone Socially Disadvantaged”

That “Golden Rule” we learned in elementary school: “Treat others the way you want to be treated”. Everyone deserves a fair chance and, it turns out, this concept comes from God! But sometimes we miss that and sometimes we see people being treated differently, often for reasons that have nothing to do with their choices.

It doesn’t make sense that anyone is treated unfairly. It’s easy to notice when children behave poorly because someone is wearing different shoes or an unusual shirt, but the grown-up world isn’t that far off in behavior. People experience pain for all kinds of reasons, including their skin color, age, language, or financial situation.

Today we focus our prayers on praying for those that need the love of the Golden Rule. Today, we focus our prayers to remember that each person on earth is uniquely made as a child of God. Let’s open our hearts to consider the struggles of others today and love God’s people with the same love God gives to us!

Let’s get those prayers going and pay attention to God’s response!

“In everything, treat others as you would want them to treat you, for this fulfills the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 7:12, NET)
