“Attend Worship”
On this 40th day of the Lenten Season, we are Challenged to attend worship. Although the pandemic created chaos for all churches, one of the lessons we learned was that online worship is now a part of our church community. Most churches offer some form of online viewing and participation, allowing folks to attend worship from anywhere their mobile devices allow.
Attending worship is important. During my years as a pastor, I’ve met folks who believed that they didn’t need to attend worship to be the person God needs them to be. Some of my colleagues may agree with that statement, while others disagree. In my case, I always encourage people to find a church and establish a church home. I know how beneficial a church family can be in regard to discipleship, growth, community, and response during times of need. Sure, someone might not be required to attend church worship to complete God’s work, but I firmly believe that worship among a community of believers (like a church) can do some really incredible things, particularly in the life of the attendee. Worship is where God expands our experiences and works out purpose in our lives, among lots of other things.
Today’s Challenge is to attend worship. Since it’s Palm Sunday, it will be a special day at most churches. Whether you choose to attend in person or online, I pray that you receive some wonderful blessings today!
