“15 Minutes of Exercise Today”
What is on the list for today? Will this be a day of fun, or is it a day of chores? If we happen to enjoy our chores, then today will be perfect since we can have fun while also being productive! But before we get our day started, let’s add one small thing to our list of activities today: Let’s take at least fifteen minutes and get some exercise.
Even a small amount of movement does the body good. Most of us need more exercise, and all of us would admit to the need. However, few of us actually do anything about it. Since this is the first Saturday of Lent, this is the perfect opportunity to get our bodies moving for a little while, giving thanks for the body God gave us.
Gym workouts and exercise classes are great. Walking the dog is great exercise. Working in the garden is also very good. Knee bends and arm stretches are great. Remember, the goal today is not to increase stamina or lift beyond our means. Instead, our goal today is to get our body moving and blood flowing, which helps to keep all of our body parts in good, working order.
Today is a great day because we have been given the gift of life. Give God some thanks today by getting some exercise for 15 minutes!
