“Tell Someone You Love Them”

Following a sugarless 24 hours, today’s Lenten Challenge will taste like honey and be easy as pie. Oh, I shouldn’t dismiss this one as simple; for some people, communicating our feelings about others is difficult.

Even if we’re not talking about romantic love, telling people we love them is not something to take for granted. Nor should we take for granted when someone tells us they love us. Instead, we should eagerly be ready to give and receive that love, whether it be love in family, friendship, relationship, or romance.

We know people who are lonely. We know people who are often quiet with their feelings. We also know people who are experts at loving the unlovable people in the world. In addition to our friends, family, and a special someone today, those folks are just a few examples of some people who could really use an, “I Love You.”

Tell someone you love them today!

“Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable; it keeps no record of wrongs; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8a, NRSV)
