“Say a Prayer of Thanksgiving”

Today is a great day to give God a big, “THANK YOU!” why? Because God is good and God has done great things for us.

This Challenge should be easy. It shouldn’t be difficult to recognize the beauty outside and the food on our table. It shouldn’t be difficult to thank God for our health, even if we’re not exactly in prime condition. We should be able to thank God for our friends and family, and maybe even a special someone.

Sometimes we forget. Other times, we take it for granted. If our current situation is extremely difficult, we might even doubt that God actually exists. Believe it or not, that’s okay. God understands our doubts. God recognizes that our attention span is limited and that our vision is sometimes blurred.

This is exactly why God provided us with guides to help us remember the things that are good, healthy, and important. The Bible, along with all of its characters and stories, is one of those guides. Jesus Christ’s teachings are also a guide, along with all the special people who God put into our lives to help encourage us to make good choices. Our prayers can also guide us, providing us with needed communication that gives us direction.

Since this is Saturday and many of us are playing somewhere today, take a few minutes and give God a big “Thank You.” It’s the least we can do for the one who created us, sustains us, and loves us more than we could ever know!

“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” (Psalm 126:3, NIV)
