“Pray for Victims of Natural Disasters”
Praying for those impacted by Natural Disasters makes all kinds of sense. It makes sense because nearly everyone has been directly affected by Natural Disasters at one time or another.
Who is this? In North America, we can pray for those who live on the coast and still cleaning up from last year’s hurricanes. Wildfires are almost always burning in abundance and this past Winter has been especially difficult for lots of people. This Spring, tornadoes will develop in areas of the country that are still suffering from the tornadoes of recent years. Earthquakes? We got ‘em. Flooding? We’ll see it. Drought? We’ll feel it.
This is just a sample of the stuff that will almost certainly occur in North America. What about the people living in other places around the world? Yeah, they’re gonna be faced with all this stuff, in addition to terrifying things we can’t imagine such as tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, sinkholes, and many other disasters.
One thing is for certain: Natural disasters will occur. Though we can prepare for some of them, not everyone can prepare, avoid, or escape them completely. Disasters are always among us and people are always in need of prayer because of the destruction, injury, and death they can cause.
Today, pray for those who are directly impacted by Natural Disasters. If you don’t know of something specific, simply ask for God to take care of people who are hurt by them. Unfortunately, the daily news always includes some naturally occurring issue that is causing harm to people and property. All of this stuff counts in our prayers today, and if we do not know someone specifically impacted, I’m sure there are lots of strangers out there who would appreciate some prayers.
God knows who needs our prayers and God will bless them for our efforts. Take a moment today and remember the needs of these. Give thanks to the strangers that pray for you, too. God is blessing us all.
“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge! A river brings joy to the city of our God, the sacred home of the Most High. God dwells in that city; it cannot be destroyed. From the very break of day, God will protect it.” (Psalm 46:1-5, NLT)
