“Introduce Yourself To Someone New”
Yaay! It’s the first Saturday in Lent! What a great day! It reminds me of the first Saturday of Advent several months ago. Writing devotions to prepare for Christmas was easy compared to these Lenten devotions. Everyone loves Christmas and though the Saturday traffic is really awful that time of year, it is a very enjoyable time that puts lots of smiles on some faces.
Lent, on the other hand, is kinda’ like a child asking their mom for a snack, only to be handed a raw carrot. This Season doesn’t seem to be very exciting so there are not many reasons to be happy. On the other hand, this might be the very reason that we strive to help put a smile on someone’s face. This is a difficult time of year for lots of folks…not because of Lent, but because of everything else that’s taking place in our world. Smiles are probably in short supply.
So, in response, let’s make a new friend today. Let’s demonstrate some hope and optimism today by introducing ourselves to someone we don’t know. God will provide the opportunities, so let’s receive them with joy and see what else God may do for us and our new friend!
Introduce Yourself to someone and make a new friend today!
“Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” (Romans 15:7, ESV)
