Frequently Asked Questions
Why Give Online?
Convenience. It’s simple and secure. You don’t have to be at the Chapel to make your donation. Writing checks and using cash continues to decrease in popularity. It’s less work – online giving options tend to be easier to track. It’s environmentally friendly. If you aren’t running to the bank, you are saving gas. If you aren’t relying on checks, envelopes, and stamps, you are also saving paper. Reoccurring gifts are easy. When you use online giving you can easily make your gift reoccurring or even consider changing a one-time gift to a reoccurring gift. This helps the Chapel receive consistent gifts each month and helps people give automatically so they don’t forget. Go Back to Online Giving.

Q: Is it safe to give online?
Yes. In many ways giving online is safer than writing a check because an electronic gift cannot be lost or stolen. Currently, at Longboat Island Chapel, we use PayPal. Their systems allow us to provide access to your donation records and allows you to make donations online. They provide all of the security for the transaction.
Your information is held securely by the PayPal systems. This information will remain private and will never be given away to third parties, other than to process your scheduled donations.
Please help us keep your information safe by protecting your PayPal login information. Access to sensitive personal and financial information can be gained by letting someone else use your account or by leaving the information for someone else to see. Longboat Island Chapel will never call you to ask for your login information.
Q: What types of bank accounts can I give from?
You can always give online using most Credit Cards, even if you don’t have a PayPal account.
If you have a PayPal account and link a checking or savings bank account to your PayPal account, you can also donate directly from your bank account.
Paying with your bank is a quick and easy way to keep track of spending. We’ll send you a receipt every time a payment is made from your account so you can keep track of your transactions.
Q: Are there any fees involved with giving online?
Not to you. You will not pay any fees with an online gift. Longboat Island Chapel is charged a percentage of your gift, so you may want to write and mail a check if the amount is significant.
