“Three-Week Accomplishments”

What can you do in three weeks?

Experts say that doing something every day for three weeks is retained in our subconscious minds, making new actions automatic. Apparently, we can train ourselves to be more productive, meet deadlines, develop better sleeping habits, and feel more happy and fulfilled.

I’m sure there are also plenty of opportunities to lose weight during the next three weeks, but I’m so busy during the Holidays that I’m usually more concerned with eating enough rather than eating too much. I’m sure the experts would tell me that I can train myself to eat a more balanced diet if only I would give it three weeks.

I say, “Bah, Humbug,” to all this. However, I am also aware that Scrooge used to say, “Bah, Humbug,” only to wake up one day and have a completely different perspective. I wonder, if Scrooge can change his life seemingly overnight, shouldn’t we bw able to accomplish nearly anything in three weeks?

After today, we are exactly three weeks away from the arrival of Christmas. If there’s something we really want to accomplish, this might be the day to start. Better nutritional diets, the removal of bad habits, and the addition of good habits could be great gifts to ourselves this Holiday Season. None of us are perfect, so obviously, we have plenty of things from which we could choose.

Do you and I have a goal that we’d like to achieve? We don’t have to wait until the New Year or the 2025 Lenten Season to accomplish something specific. Finishing this year and beginning next year with some accomplishments could be a real boost into something fresh and exciting.

Bring something to the Christmas Manger this year. Bring an improved you!
