“Discover Christmas Peace”

It’s back! Monday has arrived. I know, lots of us were hoping that Monday would take a Holiday and just let Tuesday fill in twice this week. But much to our chagrin, indeed, Monday arrived and we’ve got to get moving.

I was never a fan of Mondays. When I became a pastor, I never really gave Monday much thought. I just figured it would be like any other day, but it’s not. Since Sunday is the big day for most churches, I’m always much more tired on Monday than I would have expected. Sure, some of my lethargy might be due to aging, but that would be a lame excuse. Mondays are just difficult for the physical, emotional, and spiritual load of my Sunday.

Life isn’t easy. It’s never been easy and it’s probably not going to be any simpler in the future. But the challenges we face in life, such as a gloomy Monday, are not meant to be painful, nor are they intended to make us struggle. Instead, each Monday we encounter is just more evidence that God still has great plans for us.

Christmas Peace, one of the gifts God provides through Jesus, helps us to recognize that conflict, suffering, and even war cannot stop the great things that God accomplishes in us, through us, and for us. There is more to life than what we often perceive on Monday. God is still creating beauty, protecting life, and delivering miracles.

We might even consider that the gloom we experience on Mondays gives us a glimpse of what life would be like without the gifts of Christmas, especially the gift of Peace. Though we may not be able to provide our own solutions to pain and suffering, we can draw great comfort in knowing that God’s promise to save humankind includes Peace in our hearts, minds, and souls. When we give ourselves to the LORD, Christmas Peace becomes a reality that we can experience every day. Even better, Christmas Peace is a gift that increases as our Faith grows, providing us more strength, assurance, and confidence in our lives today and lives to come.

Seek the LORD the Christmas and discover Christmas Peace!
