NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS OF
THE LONGBOAT ISLAND CHAPEL, INC.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that pursuant to Article IV, Section 5(A.1) of the Bylaws of the Longboat Island Chapel, Inc., a Florida not-for-profit corporation (the “Chapel”), the Board of Trustees has called the Annual Meeting of the Members of the Chapel which will be held on the date and time and at the place designated hereunder for the purposes herein stated:
PLACE OF MEETING: THE LONGBOAT ISLAND CHAPEL
6200 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Longboat Key, Florida 34228
TIME OF MEETING: Immediately following the 10:00 a.m. Worship Service
DATE OF MEETING: Sunday, February 25, 2018
PURPOSE OF MEETING: Discuss and Vote on the Following Proposed Actions:
- Presentation of staff, Board and committee reports.
- Adoption of proposed 2018 budget.
- Election of Trustees.

REPORT OF THE NOMINATING AD HOC COMMITTEE
Class of 2021
The Nominating Committee has recommended to the Board of Trustees the following individuals for the Board vacancies to be filled at the February 25, 2018 Annual Meeting of the members of the Chapel.
John Brill (first term)
Katherine Nothacker (first term)
William Shuttleworth (first term)
All candidates were contacted by a representative of the Nominating Committee and have agreed to serve.
John Brill: John fulfilled the unexpired term of Margaret Noble and now will be serving his first full term. He was chair of the Building Committee for the past year.
He and his wife Lynda joined the Chapel in 2001. A native of Rochester, NY, they now live full time on Longboat Key. He is a graduate of State University of NY at Geneseo, an army veteran and a graduate of the Army Infantry Officers Candidate School, Ft. Benning, GA. His career was in human resources and he retired from Association Executive work in the lumber business. He and Lynda have one son, who also lives on Longboat Key. John is a member of the Rotary Club of Longboat Key.
Katherine Nothacker: Kate lives in Naperville, IL and spends six months in Longboat key enjoying “Paradise”. Her husband Jack passed away in February of 2016 but she still enjoys her time here. Kate and Jack have two children and five grandchildren. They all live in Naperville so she considers herself lucky to be involved with them and all of their activities. Kate graduated from North Central College in Naperville and taught Jr. High for 30 years (6th graders).
Kate joined the Longboat Island Chapel in 2004. She has been involved with the Lord’s Warehouse Fashion Show and Scholarship Committees. Kate feels the Chapel offers so many wonderful programs and activities and that she is blessed to be a part of a caring, loving family.
Bill Shuttleworth: Bill fulfilled the unexpired term of Dick Pelton and now will be serving his first full term. In the past year, he continued the stewardship of the Legacy Fund, managed the myriad of issues surrounding the Chapel sound system, and updated the wedding website photographs. Bill has previously served on the Board as Chair of: Stewardship, Endowment and Charitable Giving, and Building Committee. He also served as project manager and Treasurer.
Bill and Laurie have been members of the Chapel since 2007. They reside in Bradenton, FL, and have three sons. Bill’s career has been in the field of telecommunications. He has held senior management positions with domestic and international companies and is currently a realtor with Edgewater Real Estate
